About Cedar Moon

Life in the Woods

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. -Thoreau

The Story

Cedar Moon came from a dream.

Cedar Moon came from a dream — to live aligned with the natural cycles of the earth. To live slowly, notice the small things, connect with the world around us.

It came from my own path of healing through food, herbs, spiritual healing, animals, nature, and community.

I live with my partner and our four-legged kin in a yurt in a cedar and hardwood forest. Cedar Moon is a collaboration between me, the land, the animals, and spirit — lovingly surrounded by our local community in the islands.

From a desire to live close to nature- to find peace, meaning, and beauty in the interconnectedness of life

In the wilderness, I sense the wholeness hidden “in all things.” It is in the taste of wild berries, the scent of sunbaked pine, the sight of the Northern Lights, the sound of water lapping the shore, signs of a bedrock integrity that is eternal and beyond all doubt.
And when I return to a human world that is transient and riddled with disbelief, I have new eyes for the wholeness hidden in me and my kind and a new heart for loving even our imperfections. -Parker Palmer
